Murillo Velarde 1734 Map Turnover with the Spanish Embassy A commemorative Murillo Velarde 1734 Map was donated by Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) and NOW Group Chairman Mel Velasco Velarde to the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines through Spanish Ambassador Miguel Utray. The map turnover ceremony took place during the inauguration of the Spanish Embassy exhibition, "Four Centuries of Spanish Engineering Overseas XVI-XIX" at Museo San Agustin, Intramuros in Manila on March 14, 2024. The family of Chairman Velarde joined him and Ambassador Utray during the event. Also present at the turnover ceremony were Rev. Fr. Ricky Villar, OSA, Director of Museo San Agustin; Ms. María Antonia Colomar Albajar, curator and former Deputy Director of the Archivo General de Indias; and Mr. Ignacio Sánchez de Mora Andrés, curator and President of the Association of Spanish Knowledge-based and Engineering Companies (CÍES).
